The strongest, reusable, pocket-sized shopping bag on the market and it's made in NZ from upcycled, commercially used parachutes.
Made in New Zealand from upcycled parachutes, these reusable bags are incredibly strong and lightweight, folding in on themselves and compacting down to about the size of a small mobile phone or chunky deck of cards. ZeroBag has no extra pouches or domes just a built-in pouch to pack it into. Perfect for popping in a pocket.
Creator Aaron Jones, an architectural designer by trade, thought of the idea while living in London in 2008. Appalled by the ever-increasing plastic pollution in the city, he set upon finding the perfect lightweight, long-life, quality reusable bag that could fit in his pocket.
Frustrated by the products on offer, he began to design the perfect bag. A chance conversation with a friend in France about skydiving and the reusable bag designs he was working on led to the idea of sourcing out-of-service parachutes to fashion into upcycled bags.
The handle length has been designed to fit and hang effectively on checkout bag racks for high efficiency. No more wrestling with your grocery bag as you're trying to fill it!
Please note, as Zerobags are created from recycled materials, each one is unique and may not exactly imitate the image as shown.
Zerobag Original (parachutes) is currently only available in 1 colour:
- Clockwork Orange. Note that depending on the bag, this may be more of a yellow colour as some parachutes will have faded over time.
Zerobag 2.0 is made from 100% certified recycled plastic bottles (rPET) and is sadly no longer available.

Zero Bags are solidly constructed and strong. I love these bags and have been chasing them down as availability is tight in certain colours since the pandemic.
Very pleased so far. For example: very fast speed of delivery, efficient service, simple thoughtful plain brown recycled paper. I have not had a chance to really use them, but on the face of it they are pretty much what I was looking for -- great that they are very strongly made and can take a heavy load -- thinking of using in multiple ways: gifts to others, for shopping as per your title, light and strong for having materials handy over my arm for dipping into and showing to others when doing distributing educational resources and I am already loaded on my shoulder/back and pulling a wheelie, wrapping up items for storage to keep the bugs out, and etc. Would have liked the full colour range but imagine you have been selling them fast so was just unlucky with that.

Good news (that we're very excited about) is that the Original 1.0 bags (made from decommissioned parachutes) are making a comeback! Watch this space ... great colours are parachuting in!
