An old school paper lunch bag, but not as you know it.
In 1871, inventor Margaret E. Knight designed a machine that could create flat-bottomed paper bags, which could carry more than the previous envelope-style paper bag design. Very few women held patents at that time, and her boldness and persistence (after a copycat tried to claim her design as his own!) was revered for women’s rights. Thanks to Margaret we've been eating our lunch from paper bags ever since.
This is a paper lunch bag, but not at you know it. You can put this beauty through your washing machine and it will come out sparkling clean and ready for many more lunches!

SammyBags are made from washable Kraft paper, 60% Cellulose, 30% Latex and 10% compounding ingredients. It feels like paper but ages like leather. Plus, they are very light, easily slip into your backpack, without taking up space or weighing you down on your daily commute. Rinse in the sink or wash your SammyBags in your washing machine on any cycle. If well looked after it should last you well over 5 years.

How do I clean my SammyBag?
- Shake it out and brush off any crumbs -or-
- Wipe off any marks with a damp cloth -or-
- Rinse in the sink under running water -or, if it needs a really deep clean, you can-
- Pop it into the washing machine with your tea towels
You can put your Sammy Bag into your washing machine on any cycle (even in a front loader at 95°C!) and it will come out looking like new. We recommend using a fragrance-free environmentally friendly laundry detergent. We also recommend washing on a low temperature at a setting that uses the least amount of energy.
We would NOT recommend the use of pegs on SammyBags because they can mark and stretch the material in its damp form. Prop it open and allow it to air dry upside down.
