Soap - For Dishes
Made with all-natural, non-toxic ingredients, this zero waste alternative to dish washing liquid will leave your dishes streak free and sparkling clean.
Remember to use this castile dish soap with very hot water. We recommend using a large bowl inside the sink, which not only saves water, but allows for better suds. Wear gloves to swish the soap in hot water while the bowl / sink is filling, or use an old fashioned soap shaker.
- Zero waste
- Palm oil free
With citrus essential oils for grease-cutting power, this soap can also be used as a general kitchen cleaner – simply wipe the soap onto a wet cloth and use to clean and wipe down surfaces.
Alternatively, create your own liquid surface cleaner / dish washing liquid: Simply grate an entire soap bar and add it to 250-500ml boiling water, stir until dissolved and let it sit for 24 hours, stirring occasionally. At 500ml dilution it will be "liquid" but concentrated. This liquid cleaner has a short shelf life so use within one month.
Soap bars weigh 90-100g each. Dimensions: 80 x 58 x 25 mm.
Olive oil, water, potato, lye (none left in final product), orange & lemon essential oils.
Keep your soap out of direct sunlight and on a free-draining soap dish as wet soap left in the hot sun could melt. If your soap is allowed to dry between uses it will last much longer. One soap should last 2-3 weeks (washing dishes twice per day).
Note that the volume of bubbles may vary depending on the hardness of your water supply. If you find your water isn’t creating lots of bubbles, and falls flat quickly, you may have hard water. Your dishes will still be clean, but results may not be as effective as using a traditional detergent.
For best results, use with a soap shaker.
