Aoraki Naturals

Regular price $8.70 Sale

The rich creamy lather of these vegan shampoo bars will leave your hair feeling fresh, clean and moisturised. Great for everyday use and travelling - no plastic bottles required!

Henna Shampoo:

An apple cider vinegar based shampoo which will leave your hair feeling conditioned and henna helps to add shine. Herbal rosemary scent.

Note: Some people can be sensitive to henna and may experience an itchy scalp. If this happens, please stop using the henna shampoo and try a henna-free bar instead. Henna may also add a slight tint to your hair, so if you have bleached or very light hair, bear this in mind.

Ingredients:  Coconut oil, rapeseed oil, castor oil, sunflower oil, cocoa butter, homemade organic apple cider vinegar, sodium hydroxide, henna, rosemary essential oil.

Lemon Shampoo:

A fresh, zingy shampoo for citrus lovers.

Ingredients:  Coconut oil, olive oil, castor oil, soybean oil, water, sodium hydroxide, kaolin clay and litsea cubeba essential oil.

Rosemary & Mint:

A minty fresh and nourishing shampoo bar.

Ingredients:  Coconut oil, olive oil, castor oil, soybean oil, water, sodium hydroxide, kaolin clay,  french green clay, rosemary essential oil, peppermint essential oil.

Sensitive:

This mild, unscented, apple cider-vinegar-based shampoo is perfect for those with very sensitive skin, or for those who prefer an unscented, essential-oil-free bar.

A mild and gentle shampoo bar, formulated to address scalp issues like dandruff, inflammation, itchiness and other scalp conditions. It is perfect for those who have extremely sensitive skin, including young children or if you don’t wish to use essential oils.

Note: This is not a “tear free” shampoo. Like all solid bars, this will sting if it gets in your eyes, so use on little ones with care. If it does get in your eyes, rinse well with clean water.

Ingredients:  Coconut oil, rapeseed oil, castor oil, sunflower oil, cocoa butter, homemade organic apple cider vinegar, sodium hydroxide.

Tea Tree:

With therapeutic grade tea tree oil to address scalp issues like dandruff, inflammation, itchiness and other scalp conditions.

Ingredients:  Coconut oil, rapeseed oil, castor oil, sunflower oil, cocoa butter, apple cider vinegar, sodium hydroxide, tea tree essential oil.

Directions:
Wet hair thoroughly, swipe the bar down the length of your hair 2-3 times until enough product is deposited to create a lather. Massage your scalp and hair and lather up so there are lots of bubbles, rinse very well. Repeat with a conditioner bar if needed but you may find that you no longer need to condition once your switch to bars. Some people like to rinse with an Apple Cider Vinegar dilution (see "transition phase" below) every few weeks.

Care:
Your bar will last longer the better you care for it. Consider cutting the bar in half and only using a portion in the shower at a time. Ensure that the bar sits in a free-draining soap dish so that it doesn't melt in a pool of water and allow it to air-dry between uses. (Check out our range of soap dishes for some great bar-saving solutions!)

Weight:
All bars weigh at least 100g. As these solid bars are hand-crafted in small batches, weights and finished products may vary slightly.

Transition phase:
When using a solid shampoo for the first time it can take some time for your hair to adjust due to the residual chemicals used in commercial (bottled) shampoos. This transition phase can take anywhere from 1 to 8 weeks as your hair adjusts and your scalps natural oils balance out.

Most people do not experience any transitional phase but it is completely normal to experience lank, heavy, slightly greasy hair at first. Do not despair, this WILL pass! If you find that your hair doesn't feel quite right you can help it along by using a conditioning rinse of 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar) in 1 cup of warm water. Rinse through after washing and leave in (the vinegar smell will dissipate as your hair dries). Again, you may not experience any issues as you move from bottles to bars but it's always good to know what to do if any issues do crop up. Results will vary from person to person as we all have different hair and skin types.

A note on some of the ingredients:

Apple cider vinegar: helps to combat dandruff and conditions hair.

Castor oil: helps to condition and repair hair.

Henna: excellent conditioner, repairs and adds shine.

Kaolin clay: Rich in silica, it helps to detoxify hair while restoring moisture to dry hair.

Peppermint essential oil: stimulating, clarifying and anti-itch.

Rosemary essential oil: Increases the circulation and health of the scalp and promotes hair growth.
