Join us in shaving the world from plastic one razor blade at a time.
With three different styles to choose from we have the perfect safety razor for you:
3 Piece: 9cm length
Standard Butterfly: 9.5cm length
Extra Long Butterfly: 12cm length
3 Piece: This is a great model for travelers as it can be disassembled into a compact size that fits into even the most packed of bags. A beautiful razor which is durable and ultra-functional. With a similar length to the Standard Butterfly Razor, the 3 Piece differs by securing the blade by sandwiching it between the two top blade holding plates and then screwing the razor handle on until snug.
Standard Butterfly: This is the razor we recommend for most people as it handles each shaving situation well, will last a long time, and truly feels awesome to hold and to use. The butterfly razor is not just beautiful; it performs flawlessly. With a similar length to the 3 piece, the standard butterfly differs by securing the blade by twisting the bottom of the handle to open and close the blade holding plates, which is less fiddly and makes for faster blade changes.
XL Butterfly: The extra-long butterfly razor is built with all the same components as the regular sized razors but with an extra long handle. Why? Well, some people just prefer an extra long handle. Others say it's easier to shave their legs or their heads with the extra length. It's simply a matter of preference and we want to provide you with as many options as we can.
Key highlights of all three safety razors:
For women or men and for all your shaving needs
Over-built components for durability
Highly-polished finish to ensure long lasting protection from any potential corrosion
Quality happiness guaranteed
Used blade take back program
Replacement blades only 45c each
Each razor features a subtle etching of the Albatross company name and logo.
Whats included? Each razor comes with 10 free blades, an envelope to collect your used blades in and a hemp bag to safely store your safety razor when not in use.
Care: Like any good tool, taking care of it will help it last longer. Rinse all the soap/ hair/ gunk/ etc. from your razor after each use and shake to dry (drying the blades themselves with a towel will contribute to much quicker blade dullness). Store it somewhere dry, at the very least not in a puddle of water in your shower’s soap tray! If you do ever notice any corrosion or rust starting to develop you can generally rub that spot vigorously with a terry cloth towel, or if a more aggressive approach is needed, use a small piece of emery cloth.
Return of Used Blades: Used blades can be sent back to us or dropped off at one of our events. We ask that you put a maximum of 4 blade packs (40 Blades) in each envelope. If you order multiple blade packs we will include 1 Take Back Envelope for every 4 blade packs in your order.
The Albatross Blade Take Back Program was the world's first used razor take back program and represents years of hard work to create a totally closed loop production cycle. Albatross have set the very ambitious goal of taking back all of the blades that they produce and we want to help them achieve their goal by collecting your blades and returning them to Albatross on your behalf. The ultimate aim is to make new (non-razor) products with the metal, that have other direct environmental benefits; Albatross don't just recycle, they Upcycle! Currently the used blades are melted down, mixed with some new metal and are being made into camping cutlery sets, saving the world from plastic (utensils) one snack at a time!
Shaving Tips: We recommend the following -
First, make sure you are using a good lubricating shaving cream or soap (this is critical to ensure the blade can glide smoothly over your skin).
Hold the razor at an angle of about 30 degrees between the blade and your skin.
Do not apply too much pressure or pull too hard; the weight of the razor itself is acting on the blade and that is generally sufficient for a great, close shave.
Use short strokes, especially in the beginning, until you get used to it.
Rinse the blade often with warm water as you go.
For excellent results, try shaving after a shower or steam bath (the heat, water, and steam will help to soften your hair for an even better shave. Note, this is not necessary, you'll still have great results and a really clean shave either way).
