Matariki Star:
The celebrations of our Aotearoa / New Zealand New Year are linked to the appearance and position of the Matariki star constellation in our skies. These star earrings are designed in a way that reduces waste - each pair is made up of both the positive and negative space.

- Circle: 2.2 cm.

Pick up Cats:
Show off your love for cats with these adorable cat earrings, made from repurposed ice cream container lids. Mix and Match Teardrop Hoop Earrings:
The open hoop design means that you can take off and mix and match the three colours as you please. This provides a fun way to match your accessories to your outfits.

Circles & Long Rectangles:
A pair of beautifully mottled recycled plastic circles or rectangles are a great slow fashion statement piece. Add a splash of colour to your life with these bright 3D printer waste tones! The black and white combo earrings are made from the offcuts from making the Huia Feather (aka the 'Jacinda' earrings). Made from recycled PLA (3D printer waste) with hypoallergenic hooks which are silver in colour.

- Conic: Circle is 2 cm in diameter.
- Straight & Narrow: Rectangle is 4cm in length.
Teeny Ghosts:
These video game inspired cuties are made from salvaged acrylic offcuts and are the smallest in the Remix Plastic range so far. Great for Halloween or any time you'd like some little buddies to keep you company. 1.3 cm x 1.1 cm with hypoallergenic hooks.
Thread Earrings:
These elegant threaded earrings are the first of this style that Remix Plastic have made. Simple, but sustainable! Small, colourful recycled plastic pieces are contrasted with the long, silver thread of the earring. These pull through your ear and hang at whatever length you choose, with the remaining of the chain hanging behind. If you have double piercings, you can pull them through twice! And if you like sleeping in earrings, these are more comfortable than studs (helpful customer tips!).

- Thread (silver plated): 60 mm in length.
- Circle: 5mm in diameter. Note that the silver plastic is only shiny on one side.
T-Rex Runner:
Who doesn't love a game of dino runner while waiting for the internet to reconnect?! Now you can have that joy, in earring form! Made from recycled PLA (3D printer waste).
- Dinosaur is 2.5 cm high with hypoallergenic hooks.
Each pair of earrings is perfectly unique with its own colours (and blemishes) - they are fully functioning, and we celebrate their uniqueness, as we hope you will too!

Remix Plastic's recycled plastic products are a vehicle to empower people to make sustainable changes, whether big or small. With local waste they create products that have a sustainable story - this not only diverts waste from landfill but also provides a way to engage people in a conversation around reducing single use plastic.
The waste plastic (raw material) comes from the 3D printer at the Production Studio of Christchurch’s central library, Tūranga, and now from other makerspaces around Aotearoa. The plastic is shred into small pieces, and then melted into sheets* using a press. The earrings are then laser cut from these plastic sheets. They are assembled by hand here in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
* Please note that melting plastic can release hazardous fumes and should not be carried out at home without adequate Health and Safety equipment.
